MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL:

Welcome to the new school year! I trust you had a wonderful summer and are as excited as I am to begin this year together. I truly appreciated and enjoyed reading the postcards many of you sent to me over the summer holiday. I can’t wait to see everyone on Wednesday, September 8. 

CLASS LISTS -- MAKE SURE THE PTA HAS YOUR INFO: New Families click here for instructions. Returning Families click here for instructions.  Please respond promptly to all emails you receive this summer about data collection -- the PTA needs your help to create the class lists.  Thanks!

Results of NY State ELA & Math Tests (grades 3-5 only)  Beginning Monday, Aug. 16, you will be able to access your child’s test scores through the DOE’s ARIS Parent Link website.  For instructions on how to access ARIS, click here.  Paper reports will be distributed in September.

Prospective Families who did NOT complete registration: If you plan to attend PS 6 this September, call Ms Williams at 212 737-9774 (press 9).

After School Chess Openings--Grades 1-5: Class meets from 2:35 to 4:30pm. Kindergarten: Please let us know whether you're interested in the Thursday or Friday class, which meets from 2:35-4pm. Be sure to include your child's full name and class. To register or for more information, contact poukchanski@verizon.net.

Update: Sidewalk Singers (Grades 3-5): Our first rehearsal is Thursday, September 16, 2:30 to 4pm, in the auditorium. Registration forms will be distributed during the first days of school. Registration will be open until the end of September.

Fundraising & Volunteering

What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund is PS 6’s largest fundraising campaign throughout the school year. It is composed of annual donations made by PS 6 families and makes up more than half of the PTA budget every year.  Your contributions enrich our children’s educational experience in many ways, including:

We are very excited to tell you about the PS 6 Directory, which contains contact information for the entire student and parent body of PS6. This is a plastic-bound book that your family will refer to for many years to come. It will be distributed free of charge to every family and teacher in the PS6 community in October, reaching more than 3,000 people on the Upper East Side .

Make your donation to the ANNUAL FUND DONATE ONLINE NOW:   Click here  Donations help pay for the programs and resources that the regular school budget does not cover.   The requested amount is $1,000.   Donations are tax deductible. 

COME GET INVOLVED AT PS 6!
